Research & Discovery

Community Survey

At neighborhood association meetings and through past survey information we were able to connect with community members and business owners to see what represented Mainstrasse to them.

This also allowed us to gather information on who was in the neighborhood and what was important to them to later inform the personas.

Neighborhood Audit

Through auditing other local neighborhoods we could see what features were unique and own able to MainStrasse.

Neighborhood Personas

To better understand who we were designnig for and how to get them excited we created three audience personas- The Resident, The Buisness Owners, and The Visitors.

Identifiers

We learned the people here love the diversity and honesty of MainStrasse, as well as the hospitality and laid-back vibe. This inspired the words we would use to drive the brand forward.

Ideation & Development

After lots of research, sketches, and back and for our team created two main concepts that we would push forward. This idea was grown from the neighborhood for the neighborhood.

Logo Development

The revamped neighborhood logo took inpsiration from previous iterations through a simplified modern filagree and was inspired by the Italianate architecture and arches of the neighborhood.

Color Inspiration

Taken from the vibrant streets of MainStrasse, the color pallet is fun, eclectic, & approachable. The colors also provide a wide range of applications and feelings.

Mosaic Pattern

Inspired by the pervasive mosaic neighborhood identifies the mosaic pattern round out the brand. The undulating pattern harkens the the nearby river while capturing the feeling of the cobble stone streets. The pattern also add a structural element.
